Venus of Dessau

Darek Foks

A young New Woman/New Person, born in 1910, returns from a short but fruitful stay at the Bauhaus in Dessau (there were no Polish women among the Bauhaus students in Dessau, but there could have been) with the resolve to make a modern film about the New Woman (such a film was never made, but it could have been). The global economic crisis, growing fascism, the Spanish Civil War, and the outbreak of World War II do not make her work any easier.

"This true compendium is a summa, a hypnotic literary Bauhaus, a scan of last century's history, a revelation" - Andrzej Sosnowski
