About the book:

The author may be associated with one poetic book or another – unfortunately, over time, he was afflicted by that bothersome (and apparently common at a certain age) plague of reminiscences, which he resisted, shunning poetry so that autobiographical elements would not intrude upon the verses. When the sentimental impulse sought an outlet in sentences resembling prose, the mediocrity of memories and "recollections" turned out to be depressing – some of them tried to find their place among other, slightly less intrusive elements.

To wake up again; to get up after eleven, light a cigarette, go back to bed at ten to twelve, doze a little, dream a little, faintly hearing the bells. Then Valium. Brandy with water, a wave: "Emerge in invisible terrain." A long red wall. A dog. Probably carrion, not a dog. Wejsuny. Go back to sleep, until four in the afternoon. Drink white wine, get dressed and go outside, sit down somewhere. Smoke and breathe. Drink beer. Breathe deeply. Do some shopping and return. Drink at home; around midnight – "Hello, Sister Midnight?" – enter a state of perfect calm. Cool euphoria. Continue.

Chain Smokers: a musical and literary project, based on the combination of improvised music and contemporary Polish poetry; so far known mainly for its collaboration with the outstanding poet and translator - Andrzej Sosnowski, with whom the group released the multimedia album Trackless in 2007 and Dr Caligari Resets the World in 2011. The band's idea is to bring together the values of music and poetic text, the mutual intertwining of the rhythm of the poem and music. Concerts are a one-time event, a journey of sounds and accompanying poetic words.

The third Chain Smokers album Where the End of the Rainbow Doesn't Touch the Earth is characterized by instrumental improvisation by the musicians (Patryk Zakrocki, Mateusz Rybicki, Zbyszek Kozera) following the natural tempo and rhythm of Andrzej Sosnowski's poems, for whose recitation the musical space was prepared. Thus, the poem sets the foundations for rhythm, atmosphere, and tempo here.
